Grandma’s Secret - Jaydee’s Naturals ad

In this ad spot for Jaydee’s Naturals we wanted to capture the essence of natural remedies, and the way they are handed down orally in the Caribbean. In the piece, we see Jodie’s grandmother picking soursop leaf, telling her to let the plants be her teachers and healers - transitioning to Jodie grown up, creating her much-loved products for Jaydee’s Naturals thanks to her grandmother’s advice.  We end with the products showcased as they are used by a young woman with a natural look bathing at one of Dominica’s many beautiful waterfalls, capturing the freshness and natural essence of these organic products.

At One Off we developed some different concepts which we pitched to Jodie, and then went on to storyboard, shotlist, script and cast the piece which we shot in one day over multiple locations with our crew. In final delivery, we provided both the full ad, along with shorter form content for social media, and a version optimised for digital billboards. Needless to say, Jodie loved what we did!

Home Movie Tape: The Covid Years (Trailer)

‘Home movie tape’ is a short collage piece made in the tradition of home movies. It combines a collection of footage taken through the Covid-19 pandemic in Dominica, with audio from interviews with the filmmaker’s friends on life, love, death, and having kids in these trying times. Loose in form, with the filmmaker’s own voice absent, the film invites the audience to draw their own conclusions. Primarily shot on iPhone.
